Education...

How well educated is your chiropractor?  Doctors of chiropractic are highly trained specialists in neuro-musculoskeletal conditions as they relate to the spine. Chiropractors attend a minimum of seven years of college. Chiropractic education begins with undergraduate courses in pre-med such as the basic sciences including physics, chemistry and biology.  Afterwards, they attend graduate courses with special emphasis on anatomy, physiology, neurology, pathology, spinal adjusting techniques and x-ray. They also must participate in a closely supervised clinical residency as well as pass rigorous written and oral boards prior to licensure. The great majority of chiropractors continue on with training by attending continuing education seminars and reading professional journals in order to keep current with the latest techniques and advancements in medicine.
