Nutrition...

Proper nutrition is an important component in the chiropractic lifestyle. Eating healthy foods is imperative to maintaining optimal health.  Everyone should supplement their diet with vitamins and minerals.  Most people lead an extremely hectic lifestyle juggling work and family. They often eat on the run, lack the proper sleep, drink beverages that are caffeinated, and possibly pop over the counter vitamins.
“Eating on the run” often involves fast food or processed foods. These types of meals, with loads of artificial additives and preservatives, make it more difficult to absorb vital nutrients and minerals.  As if this isn’t enough, you may be one of the millions of Americans who are on a perpetual diet. “Dieting” makes it almost impossible to obtain the minimum daily requirements necessary for average health.  Women need to be especially concerned about maintaining proper calcium levels in their bodies.  In women after age 35, if enough calcium is not ingested, the body steals calcium from the bone, leading to osteoporosis.  This is highly preventable by supplementing with high quality calcium and magnesium vitamins.
Buying the cheapest vitamins over the counter is not desirable.  It can be compared to “flushing your money down the toilet”. Good quality vitamins contain no artificial dyes, preservative or additives. Reading the labels can be a real eye opener. The cheaper over the counter vitamins are loaded with artificial chemicals and preservatives impairing your bodies ability to absorb the very nutrients you are trying to supplement.
Your doctor of chiropractic can recommend high quality vitamins at a reasonable price conveniently available in the chiropractor’s office. Spending a few extra dollars on high quality vitamins will ultimately save your pocketbook by spending less money on trips to the doctor because you will be healthier and less likely to become sick and miss time from work. Ask your chiropractor about vitamin and mineral supplements today, and begin enjoying a healthier lifestyle.
